Wine Tasting in a Traditional Tenerife Winery

In the heart of the Valle de La Orotava, a centenary family winery opens its doors to discover the true soul of Canarian wine. The family has grown vines here since 1939, working pre-phylloxera ungrafted vines on volcanic soils, refreshed by the trade winds and kissed by the Atlantic.

A great protagonist of this experience is the Cordón Trenzado, the unique traditional vine-training system of the Valle de La Orotava: vines woven into long braided cords that seem to walk across the landscape. During the walk among the vineyards you will learn how generations of growers have adapted their work to this very particular territory.

The tastings are commented by the winery's team in Spanish and English. The winery sells its wines under three different brands (Tajinaste, Paisaje de las Islas and CAN), so you may find their labels at the end of the experience — a delicious souvenir of Tenerife.
